Steps to Apply
Applications are open to students who attend our partner schools. We do not have any formal admissions requirements, but in general, we look for applicants who have a 3.0 GPA or higher and will have completed at least four semesters in college when they enroll in our program (typically juniors and seniors).

Contact your campus representative.Each partner school has a representative for the Lutheran College Washington Semester to recruit for LCWS and work with prospective students as they begin the application process. These representatives will also approve the applications of their students participating in LCWS. Please reach out to your representative to learn about your school's study-away requirements.

Gather application materials.Before applying, make sure you have the following ready to submit or provide information for: Resume Cover Letter Unofficial Transcript Two Recommenders to submit Letters of Recommendation on your behalf. These letters may either be submitted with the application, or through the “Recommenders” form linked at the top of our website. Campus Representative Approval Important - Cover letters and Letters of Recommendation should not be addressed to LCWS for admission to the program. Instead, cover letters should be addressed to an example internship site and letters of recommendation should be written generally to use to apply to a variety of organizations. For example: "To Whom It May Concern....I recommend this student for an internship with your organization."

Submit your application.Once you have submitted the form, you will receive a confirmation email from LCWS.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until space is filled, but in order to meet internship deadlines, students are encouraged to apply by these dates:
Fall
Early Action: March 1
Regular: April 1

Saturday, August 31: Move-In Day
Afternoon of Sunday, September 1: Orientation (Mandatory)
Monday, September 2: Orientation Continued; First Day of Classes (Labor Day)
Tuesday, September 3: First Day of Internships
Monday, October 14: Indigenous Peoples' Day (Holiday)*
Monday, November 11: Veteran's Day (Holiday)*
Wednesday, November 27 - Friday, November 29th: Thanksgiving Holiday, LCWS Office Closed
Saturday, December 7 - Sunday, December 8th: Move Out Weekend
*Please Note: Your internship may require you to work on holidays. There is no fall break during the semester.
