The Lutheran College Washington Semester offices are located in the heart of Rosslyn, a neighborhood of Arlington, VA. Located next to the Potomac River, Rosslyn leads you directly into Georgetown and Washington, D.C. by way of the Francis Scott Key Memorial Bridge. Rosslyn, known for years as a business center, is starting to gain in residents and more shopping, restaurants, and other attractions.
Rosslyn has a couple claims to fame as it’s home to the origin of the internet, developed by what is now DARPA, which was located at an office building in Rosslyn and has since moved to nearby Ballston. Also located in Rosslyn is the famous garage where Woodward and Bernstein met Mark Felt (aka “Deep Throat”) in the breaking of the Watergate / Nixon scandal. Rosslyn is also home to Fort Myer military base made famous as the location of the 3rd US Infantry (the Old Guard) and the site of the first passenger air flight conducted by Orville Wright in 1908. Located between Ft. Myer and LCWS is the United States Marine Corps Memorial, also known as the Iwo Jima Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery.
River Place is at the corner of Fairfax Drive and N. Lynn Street in Rosslyn and is home to the LCWS program and our thirteen residential condominiums the students live in while attending the program. Located just two blocks away is the Rosslyn metro station, and is a short walk from a grocery store, several restaurants, the Rosslyn Post Office, and many other stores and attractions.
